Word Ladders
Word Ladders contain words that run alongside our phonics scheme. As a school we follow the (Department for Education) Letters and Sounds. When we are teaching phonics we introduce the children to decodable words (words you can sound out) and tricky words (words they just have to learn by sight). The Word Ladders link to the different phonic phases and it really helps the children to become confident and secure in their word knowledge. This knowledge is then applied and evident in both their reading and writing.

Cued Articulation
We use Cued Articulation to support the teaching of sounds. It helps to develop the children's speech sounds using visual signs and to aid auditory discrimination.
