“Partnerships between staff and parents, and staff and children’s school teachers, are strong and effective in ensuring children receive consistent support and care”
“Leaders demonstrate strong capacity to sustain ongoing improvement”
We accept childcare vouchers and are registered for the new HM Government Tax-Free Childcare Scheme
I like it at Wingbats because I get to play lots of games. I like Lego, Connex, cooking and playing with the Kindles. I enjoy playing with children older then me. I am on the Wingbats Council and at meetings we can change what happens at Wingbats and what we do there.” Tom aged 7
Emphasis on Fun….a relaxed & safe environment to play with friends
Wingbats is an established After School Club with over 20 years experience based at West Byfleet Infant School. It runs straight after each school day until 6pm for children aged 4-11. Wingbats aims to provide local working parents peace of mind with an affordable, safe, reliable and fun after school child care option.
Supervised Free Play
Wingbats offers a relaxed environment where the emphasis is on supervised free play. Young children can be tired at the end of the school day and may wish to simply ‘chill out’. Others can take advantage of the range of activities on offer in the hall, or enjoy the fresh air in the playground and outside play areas. If your child would like to do their homework, they have access to a supervised quiet area with learning resources. A healthy snack & drink are available from the snack bar and are included in the daily cost.
- Relaxed environment
- Principles of ‘Play’
The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is based on the principle that children learn through play and states that “in their play children learn at their highest level”.
Peace of Mind
An enthusiastic full time team with many years experience, ensuring consistency for both the children & the parents. All staff are trained in Safeguarding, First Aid & Epipen and Food Hygiene, and regularly attend training.

“I like Wingbats because you can play outside. I love the movies and dancing. I like it when we cook and when we make perla beads. I like making models and playing with Geomag and colouring. Mrs Barclay-White puts really nice activities out. I really liked the Easter egg hunt and the bonfire party. The staff really look after me” Sophia aged 5
“I cannot recommend Wingbats more highly, the staff provide excellent wrap around care, The after school club provides a huge range of activities and cater for my children whether they want to get involved in a game or craft activity or have a more relaxed down time sitting on bean bags reading comics. The activities are always really imaginative and the children and staff all get involved. I am always struck how caring the staff are and their feedback at pick up is so valuable to feel connected to the school as a working parent.” Mrs H
““I really love Wingbats because I get a snack, I get to play outside and read books. I like the movies we watch, using the kindles and all the team games we play. The homework area is good as it means I have less homework at the weekend. The staff are really nice.” Oscar aged 7yrs
